Balta readies oversize attack plan

DALTON, GA — Balta U.S. Inc. is readying its first collection of oversized room rugs.
The company's two top selling collections — Samarkand and Luxus — will be the first to offer the new 10' x 13' estate size, heat-set polypropylene rugs.
The Samarkand Collection, a 3,300-grams-per-square-meter construction, features reds, blues and beiges in traditional designs. The Luxus Collection, a one-million-point construction with 12mm pile height, blends black, burgundy, gold and beige.
"Our customers have continued to ask us to expand our offering to include these larger sizes," said Patrick Moyer, president. "This addition to our offerings is in keeping with our commitment to offer our customers the most comprehensive line of quality products in the market."
Balta plans to expand the oversized offerings to other collections, including more heat-set polypropylene collections as well as flatwoven rugs.
The company has already begun stocking some oversized offerings. The launch is slated for January 2004 during the International Area Rug Market in Atlanta.
