Regency presents looks for many niches

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 11/3/2003

NEW YORK — Regency Home recently unveiled 16 new looks at its showroom at 261 Fifth Ave. here, which was arranged according to price points.

The company has been around for 55 years providing full bedding ensembles with sheets, shams, decorative pillows and curtains. "For many years we were primarily a print house but in the last two we've split our assortment between prints and finer fabrics, such as jacquards, sheers, appliques and silks," explained Joe Del Castillo, regional sales manager. Regency Home's cut and sew facility is located in Hickory, NC.

"We're driving a lot of attention to fringes, cords, prints and embellishments, and looking for beautiful jacquards that can be put into different price categories or constructions," added stylist Karen LaGreca.

Some of the company's newest patterns include Prado, a regal Jacobean scroll in chenille with two coordinates, a trellis and a stripe, in a brick colorway with brushed gold scrolling. Prado's window treatment features a complicated swag valance with tiebacks and on top of bed there are about nine different dec pillows of unusual sizes and shapes. Teilhard, a pattern layered with design elements and texture for an architectural approach with subtle metallic gold accents, has a stria stripe coordinate on the bed skirt, Euros, some of the numerous dec pillows, window valance and tiebacks.

A centered motif appears on shams and accents include mitered pillows, brushed fringe and a twist cord.

In Regency Home's Classic Elegance collection, which has moved to soft plaids and checks with overscale florals, a big hit was Country Cottage. The pattern offers rose, wisteria and lilac bouquets on a rouge ground with seven dec pillows and two different scale plaid coordinates in sage, ecru, rouge and terracotta.

Catering to twenty-something and thirty-something females is one of Regency's unique patterns entitled Butterfly Garden, a three-dimensional hand-designed novelty bed.

Butterfly Garden features three-dimensional appliques of butterflies, roses and blooms with airbrushing as well as a satin ribbon border that frames the bedspread. The bed also has a double layer drop that is scalloped and overlocked, along with engineered shams and window panels.

In the promotional woven category, the biggest hits were Damask Bouquet, which has large damask flowers, five dec pillows and a Swiss dot tailored bed skirt, Euros and curtains, which also feature gimping and a tassel on the swag. The other big hit was Floral Trellis, a bordered and mitered damask with a diamond trellis coordinate on the Euros, bed skirt and frame. Dec pillows for Floral Trellis pick up both patterns.
