TORONTO — Hellenic Rug Imports Canada Inc., the three-year-old sister company of U.S.-based Hellenic Rug Imports, recently hired Ashish Puri to the new post of vp of operations.
Puri's responsibilities involve managing all operations of the supply chain from the factory to customers' shelves, said Ankush Gupta, president, to whom Puri reports.
"We hired Ashish to help us standardize our operations more," Gupta told HTT. "Hellenic Canada has grown a lot, and we need to support this growth."
Puri was at General Electric as a senior manager.
In other company-related news, Hellenic Rug Imports will be expanding its throw line with cotton and cotton-blend offerings, set to launch at this week's market.
The assortment includes cotton with chenille and cotton with merino wool in 15 styles and various colorways.
The expansion is based on the company's "very successful" launching of Merino wool throws, which are made at the company's facilities in Greece, in Germany, Steve Mazarakis, president, told HTT.
Retail price points for 50" x 70" cotton blend throws start at $39.
