Javits show program schedule

NEW YORK — The New York Home Textiles Show taking place at the Jacob Javits Center here Sept. 19 to 22 will include a number of educational programs in addition to some 350 exhibitors and a new Tools for the Trade supplier pavilion.
"Importing Secrets: A Guide to Purchasing from Overseas Resources" will examine the pros and cons of working with foreign resources and provide tips about how to avoid the pitfalls. The hour-long session takes place Sept. 19 at noon. Tickets are $35 in advance, $45 onsite.
For first-time attendees, a one-hour "Strategies for Working the Show" meeting will take place Sept. 20 at 9:30 a.m.. Tickets are $20 in advance/$25 onsite.
Also Saturday, the show will host the "Only in New York" retail tour from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Buses leave from the Javits Center. Tickets are $40 in advance/$50 onsite, and the tour includes a boxed lunch.
Sunday's program features "Trends: Color and Design," a one-hour seminar beginning at 1:00 p.m. Tickets are $40 in advance/$50 onsite.
The fall show will also debut an educational fiber display, "Seeds of the Industry," illustrating the origins of various fibers, and their development into finished product.
