Cotton Inc. design awards announced

NEW YORK — Decorative fabrics, prints, technical achievement and bed and bath fashions are the home furnishings categories designated in the Cotton Inc. 22nd annual Textile Designer Awards.
The awards program will recognize designers' ability to add aesthetic creativity and functional effectiveness to all-cotton and cotton-rich fabrics in home furnishings and apparel.
"Creativity from the designer is challenged every day, from the fiber to the yarn, fabric and finishes, today's consumer is demanding uniqueness with value," said Dean Turner, senior vp, global product marketing. "The Textile Designer Awards program recognizes the dedication and vision of those that have met and exceeded this challenge."
All fabrics submitted must be commercially available and received by Cotton Inc. no later than Aug. 1, 2003. Submissions must include fabric samples, category, designer's name, company affiliation, address and phone number and should be sent to Cotton Inc. Textile Designer Awards, 6399 Weston Parkway, Cary, NC.
The awards will be presented on Oct. 9 at The American Folk Museum, 45 West 53 St. here.
