Sony Pictures taps creative branding vp

CULVER CITY, CA — Sony Pictures Consumer Products (SPCP) this week promoted Christiane Friess promoted to the post of vp of creative, reporting to Al Ovadia, evp.
Previously, Friess worked as executive creative director since she joined the company in 1998.
"Christiane brings excellent creative strategies and ideas to the licensing of our properties," Ovadia said.
In her new position, Friess will be responsible for the creative branding of SPCP's properties. She will work directly with Sony Pictures Entertainment's Theatrical Marketing and Production teams to create the graphic elements and service the promotional needs of sales, retail and marketing for SPCP's licensing programs. She will also be responsible for planning how to creatively bring properties to the licensing market. Friess has worked on such properties as "Spider-Man," "Men in Black II," "Stuart Little" and "Jackie Chan Adventures" and is currently working on "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" and the upcoming animated series "Astro Boy."
Prior to joining SPCP, Friess was the director of client services at Air Creative, where she worked on all syndicated television accounts, including Paramount. She was also the director of production at Werndorf and Associates.
