OSTERVILLE, MA Designer Claire Murray has forged a licensing partnership with Sam Hedaya Corp. to expand Murray's nature-inspired designs into a broad collection of kitchen textiles.
The partnership marks family-operated Sam Hedaya Corp.'s first licensed line in the company's 75-year history.
"We chose to go with Claire Murray because it is design driven," Sam Hedaya, president, said. "There's a very big tie-in to china patterns to her designs. That's how customers buy table linens."
Hedaya's "Claire Murray Collection" will hit store shelves in the fall. The product mix includes tablecloths, napkins, kitchen towels, aprons, chair pads, table runners, pot holders and oven mitts.
Hedaya said that for the initial launch there will be two styles, each of which includes fully coordinated products.
"We are currently developing coordinating designs to complement Claire's Gibson dinnerware program as well as a stand-alone program for our first release of the Claire Murray Collection," Hedaya added.
Murray said she selected Sam Hedaya Corp.'s as her licensee for this kitchen textile line because of the company's ability to produce high-quality products adaptable to all levels of retail distribution.
"This is the first license for the Sam Hedaya Corp., and one we believe will be significant not only for both our companies, but for major retailers who are now seeking synergy between their dinnerware and home textile collections," she added.
Murray's other home textiles licensees include: Ginsey Industries for decorative bath seats and tub mats; Hedaya Home Fashions or quilts, throws and pillowcases; Milliken Carpet & Rugs for machine-made floorcoverings; the Rug Barn for woven throws and coordinating pillows; and Wilh Wulfing for bed linens and coordinating sleepwear.
