Kravet signs Barry license

BETHPAGE, NY — Kravet has signed a licensing agreement with West Coast interior designer Barbara Barry for a collection of fabrics to be launched in fall 2004.

The collection, all wovens, "represent an evolution for us. The fabrics will be a younger, fresh look for us," said Scott Kravet, a principal at the high-end home furnishing supplier.

While the final sku count has not been determined, the collection will be shown in a set of color books. The look will be textural transitional toward contemporary with lots of natural fibers, Kravet explained.

"The fabrics will be very much apart from the furniture designs she does for Baker," Kravet added.

"For Sale" signs at Lanscot-Arlen

NEW YORK — Lanscot-Arlen has been put up for sale.

The decorative fabric supplier, which was purchased by current management and investors in September 2000, "reached a critical point about a month ago," said Bob Woodcock, president and one of the principals.

Woodcock added, "There is no official deadline, but it has to be done quickly so we can continue to serve our customers. We are optimistic that this will happen."

Woodcock, Clement Ramdin, who is chairman and ceo, along with Equity Capital Partners of Atlanta purchased Lanscot-Arlen and Wilmington Piece Dye from Saul Nulman and Glenda Kirby in September 2000. At the time of purchase the company had sales in excess of $50 million.
