Fashion bedding led Messina & Zucker intros

NEW YORK — A broad range of fashion bedding introductions led the offerings from Messina & Zucker during spring market week.

The company also showed a host of new products in rugs, bath, kitchen and table linens, decorative pillows and basic bedding.

New bed-in-a-bags treatments and styles included all sateen; jacquard with braided corded edges and high-thread-count sheets — Roma and Shalimar; all seasons' 9-piece, with matching quilt or sheet sets. Also new were several patterns in new quilted bedspreads and jacquards.

Comforters and comforter sets were shown in floral, geometric and contemporary styles and colors.

New sheet offerings are in thread counts ranging from 180-count to 600-count, all cotton, many with design stitch hems. New luxury sheets, with thread counts starting at 280, included a 360-count and 400-count woven sateen stripe both with designer hem stitch; and a 600-count woven sateen stripe with marrowed stitch.

Area rug introductions included heat set nylon plush rugs, all-cotton rugs, solid color and print slice rugs, novelty prints and welcome mats.

A hand-carved designer rug collection, with 9 designs and 12 colors, led the offerings. Also shown were a deco plush 100 percent nylon plush pile rugs — accent and bath — in eight sizes; Verona, an oval; Barcelona, with sculptured borders; and Topaz — all heat set nylon in 12 colorways.

Among the others were novelty prints, solid kitchen slices, raised-print welcome mats and Berber rugs.

New in beach towels are jacquard fiber reactive prints and double jacquards. In bath, new microfiber hair towels, hair turbans, spa towels and sports towels were shown.

In bath rugs, new at market were style #4875, a contemporary nylon cut and loop in a symmetrical geometric design, in six colors, including periwinkle, teal, mint and wine; an expansion of its 3-piece bath mat sets; and new luxury all cotton rugs in fashion colors.

In bed pillows, new introductions included white goose down with luxury 300-count covers; luxury comfort shaped feather/down pillows; Arctic siberian down alternative pillows and matching comforters; and Natural Comfort, a synthetic reputed to feel and perform like down.

For throws and blankets, new were Arctic Ridge Fleece throws in a wide assortment of fashion solids, prints and plaids. Also new is a full line of down blankets to complement the company's down comforter program.

New for this category are a collection of microfiber kitchen towels and cloths, which are super absorbent, lint free and won't scratch fine china; multi purpose cleaning towels; Chef's Essentials, a full fashion line of restaurant-quality fashion, utility kitchen textiles for the home.

In table linens, introduction included microfiber tablecloths, which combine microfiber technology with armorflux, a water-repellent treatment that protects tables from spills while staying soft and wrinklefree. The tablecloths are also machine washable and lint free.

For decorative pillows, new were fleece pillows and matching throws, as well as assorted decorative chenille and jacquard pillows.

The company is also expanding its futon cover program.
