McHugh makes distinct mark for Regency line

AT THE NEW YORK MARKET — Regency Home Fashions parlays novelty yarns, textured backgrounds and vivid colors into a new group of jacquards that serves as the nucleus for the debut line of new design director Jim McHugh.
Jacquard looks include florals, traditional damasks and classic scrolls characterized by the use of novelty yarn accents, stria warps, textured backgrounds and a broad-ranging color palette.
Print looks in the Regency lineup include two juveniles, traditional scrolls, florals and a full-scale panel print inspired by an old-world kilim rug. The kilim's main motif is floral, offset by a paisley border, and uses a palette blending neutral taupe, reddened browns, sage green and cinnabar red.
Two whimsical juveniles emphasize lime and turquoise colorways.
New at this week's market is a Classic Elegance print collection, emphasizing traditional and old world patterns. Two new prints will get the spotlight treatment in a separate room devoted to the collection.
