Sphinx ups sales team

DALTON, GA— Sphinx by Oriental Weavers recently promoted Douglas Robetor to the newly created position of vp of sales, national sales manager, and hired Blake Dennard to replace him as the company's new Southern regional manager.

Robetor reports to Mike Riley, executive vp of sales and marketing, and Dennard reports to Robetor.

Robetor has served as Sphinx's southern regional manager for the past three years. He has been working in the floor covering industry since 1975. Prior to joining Sphinx, Robetor worked as southern regional manager and director of national accounts for Gulistan Carpets, where he spent 14 years. At Gulistan, he worked for Riley's father, Jack, the company's president at the time.

"I've known Doug for the past 16 years," Riley said.

Dennard joins Sphinx from his own independent area rug sales agency, Dennco Sales & Marketing. Previous to Dennco, Dennard served as the director of Canadian sales and marketing and the divisional manager of Waverley for Beaulieu of America.

"In a time of economic difficulty for the majority of our country, we are so fortunate to be able to bring on such experienced and talented individuals," Riley added. "Doug and Blake bring a combined 30 years of management experience to Sphinx. Their knowledge of the industry will be a tremendous attribute in helping us meet the company's aggressive growth expectations."
