ShopKo chooses Bolstad to lead store ops, logistics

GREEN BAY, WI ShopKo Stores has named Dan Bolstad as senior vp of ShopKo store operations. He will be responsible for logistics functions for the company's ShopKo and Pamida divisions.
Additionally, Mike Bettiga was promoted senior vp, retail health operations for the ShopKo and Pamida divisions.
Borstad previously was with Fred Meyer stores as senior vp, operations group. He had been with that company for 27 years, starting as a store management trainee. Starting in 2000, he had been been responsible for logistics management for all Fred Meyer businesses.
"Dan brings more than 25 years of retailing experience to ShopKo," said Sam Duncan, president and ceo. "As we begin our plan for store growth and to develop new store prototypes, Dan's depth of experience will be very valuable in providing leadership."
Bettiga has been with ShopKo since 1977, starting as a pharmacist. He previously was responsible for store and retail health operations
Shopko operates 365 retail stores in 23 states, primarily in the Midwest, Western Mountain and Pacific Northwest. Of those stores, 141 are ShopKo units and 224 fall under the Pamida nameplate.
