IFDA schedules Circle of Excellence gala

NEW YORK — This year's IFDA/NY Circle Of Excellence Awards Gala will feature and honor some of the stars of the furnishings and design industry.
The biannual event is scheduled for March 19 at the Hudson Theatre, Millennium Broadway Hotel in New York.
This year's award winners are Jeffrey Petersen, associate publisher of Architectural Digest; Margaret Russell, editor-in-chief of Elle Décor; Sherri Donghia, executive vp of Donghia Furniture/Textiles Ltd.; Jamie Drake, interior designer; Helen Wagner, manager, public relations for 3M Corp., and Marvin Hopkins, president and ceo of Hunter Douglas Window Fashions.
"The Circle of Excellence Awards has become the premiere event of the New York chapter, and we hope the membership and their guests will be out in full force to acknowledge the honorees and their accomplishments," said Renée Bennett, IFDA/NY chapter president.
In addition to the Circle of Excellence awards, IFDA/ NY is presenting its first Revolutionary Retailer Award to Crate & Barrel founder and ceo Gordon Segal.
The Laurel Award, which honors an individual or organization that has dramatically increased the visibility of the furnishings and design industry to a broader public, will be given to Home and Garden Television. And the Rising Star award, given to a younger member of IFDA/ NY who has taken on responsibility for IFDA projects, will be presented to Christina Manca of Holly Hunt Inc.
