Proposte, set for May, adds new activities
COMO, ITALY — Proposte, the high-end decorative and curtain fabric show, is spreading its reach to include activities beyond product introductions.
The show, an annual event, will be held May 7 to 9 at the Spazio Villa Erba here.
Among the new activities is a more active tie-in with the technical textiles world, several new academic affiliations, the organization of a day on furnishings textiles and the "Proposte World and como Days," tying in Proposte with the Milan Polytechnic course on design.
Duralee division debuts third crypton line
BAY SHORE, NY — Duralee Fabrics' Techstyle division is launching its third collection of woven jacquards made of Crypton, a patented upholstery fabric system engineered to be resistant to moisture, stains, flames, abrasion and bacteria. Crypton Volume III is designed to bridge the gap between contemporary and traditional styling, especially for the contract and hospitality markets.
Fradin new sales manager at Sunbury
NEW YORK — Sunbury Textile Mills has hired Darren Fradin as sales manager. He will work out of the company's SoHo office here and will report to senior vp of sales and marketing Rocco Simone.
Most recently, he was senior regional sales manager for Homestore.com. His background also includes Covington Industries, where he was international sales manager and then national sales manager/frame division. Prior to Covington, he was international sales manager at P. Kaufman.
