Chereskin, Tobin/Maytex link up in holiday designs

NEW YORK — With collections already available at retail for spring and fall, Ron Chereskin is setting his sights on the holiday season in an agreement with Tobin/Maytex Mills.

The Chereskin Home label is being supplied by Tobin/Maytex for a variety of soft tabletop products and bathroom accessories. They are being previewed during the February mini-market at the Tobin/Maytex showroom at 261 Fifth Ave, which now features a Chereskin Home dedicated space.

Place mats, table runners, tablecloths and napkins are represented in a collection of 24 styles and various colors.

Placemats have a retail price range from $2.99 to $9.99, with the opening price point represented by woven cotton. The upper tier features embroidered and embellished goods as well as a variety of fabrics including velvet, spun silk and jacquard cotton.

Tablecloth price points start at $29.99 for 60" x 84" size.

Some lines have coordinating soft coasters and napkins rings.

Chereskin said some of his menswear fabrics had been reinterpreted and added to the tabletop line to "cause some noise" and that hard tabletop is next in line.

For the bath, the Chereskin Home label has been supplemented with eight to 10 new holiday looks. As in tabletop, many easily make the transition to other seasons. Included are a soapstone collection, antique brass and an interpreted Swirl.

Chereskin's Tuxedo bathroom collection, introduced last year, is being expanded to 13 colors from its original six. Three of the new offerings are metallic while the remaining four are "deeps."

Several different print and woven shower curtains are also among the additions, however more are scheduled to be unveiled during the upcoming March home textiles market.

The tabletop and bath lines are expected to ship in July.
