Terrisol appoints new coo/vp

NEW YORK— Bath and beach towels and table linens importer Terrisol Corp., the U.S.-based subsidiary of Brazilian-based Karsten, recently appointed J.R. Schmitt as its new coo and vp.
He replaces Eric Vergucht, who last month left the company to pursue other opportunities.
Schmitt, who has spent the past 15 years of his career with Karsten, worked most recently as the company's export manager handling all international accounts.
He relocated to New York City from Brazil in late November to assume his new post.
He reports directly to Joao Karsten Neto, vp, Karsten.
