Shaw to augment handmade rugs

By Cecile B. Corral -- Home Textiles Today, 12/9/2002

DALTON, GA — Based on a strong response from its retail partners in October, Shaw Rugs is expanding its line of handmade goods sometime during the company's first quarter from January through March, Jeff Meadows, division vp, told Home Textiles Today.

The new rugs will fall under the licensed Tommy Bahama collection and will be made up of 100 percent wool and silk rugs imported from China. They will launch in eight new patterns that complement the existing collection.

Shaw first added handmade rugs to its offerings in October when it launched its licensed Martha Stewart line with 26 new patterns in 100 percent wool, flat weave, hand-knotted and micro-hook constructions as well as natural fiber additions imported from Indonesia for its Tommy Bahama collection.
