Balta USA gains new space for AmericasMart

DALTON, GA — Balta USA, the North American branch of Belgian-based machine-made rug manufacturer Balta, has obtained a 3,000-square-foot showroom in Atlanta at the AmericasMart.
The fledgling company signed the three-year lease, with an option to renew, last week and is already working to revamp the space with new rug racks, lighting, laminate flooring and other features, Pat Moyer, president, told Home Textiles Today. The third-floor space is in 3-D-7 and 3-D-9 across the hall from Nourison and diagonally across from Oriental Weavers of America.
The space will be ready in time for the upcoming area rug show Jan. 16 to 19.
Balta USA's new showroom was formerly the site of handmade rug company Neman.
The January show will be the company's second presence at the biannual event. And even though the company, which opened its doors in April, was stationed in a second-floor booth in the "temporaries" section during the July show, Moyer said Balta USA will treat this upcoming market event as its official launch.
"We had bits and pieces pulled together for July, but this time we'll have our entire line and full offering," Moyer said. "This market will be totally different."
Balta USA in January will present 20 collections (compared to eight in July), each comprising 18 to 24 patterns available in two to four colorways. Targeting all levels of retail, Balta USA offers a broad product range, from promotional polypropylene rugs set to retail for $49 to $99 for 5' x 8' rugs to a variety of heat-sets for $149 to $299 to 100 percent New Zealand wool rugs for $199 to $699.
All of Balta USA's rugs are made at company headquarters in Belgium.
