Verdisco to retire from IMRA
Agrees to stay on until successor is named

ARLINGTON, VA — After more than a decade of service, Robert Verdisco has announced that he will retire at the end of the year as president of the International Mass Retail Association (IMRA), though he will serve in a consulting role for one year to ensure a smooth transition.
The IMRA board's search committee will begin the process of selecting Verdisco's successor immediately, but if no one is in place by Jan. 1, 2003, Verdisco has agreed to continue as president until the search is completed.
Having held the presidential post since 1990, Verdisco oversaw the transition from an association representing only retailers to one that also represents their partners and the suppliers of products and services. In addition, under his leadership IMRA has established representation on federal and state legislative and regulatory issues and developed educational conferences.
