TIP tries new location

Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 6/10/2002

HERTFORDSHIRE, ENGLAND — Textiles d'Interieur Premiere (TIP), with an anticipated 20 percent growth in exhibitors, is moving to a new location in Brussels, Belgium, for its exhibition from Sept. 6 to 9.

The 10th anniversary year will be sited at Brussels Kart Expo, which will offer more convenient access to the concurrent Heysel Parc d'Exposition, the home of Decosit and Deco Contract.

The new venue, said Bill Davis, head of Trade Link, the organizer of TIP, is on the Brussels-Koekelberg exit of the Brussels Ring Road. The courtesy shuttle service from TIP to Decosit will now take an average of eight minutes.

This year's TIP is organized around two main areas —World Sources and Global Solutions. World Sources is designed to showcase the manufacturers of fabrics with a broad brush of global sourcing opportunities, while Global Solutions will feature distributors with wide ranges of global fabric qualities, quality and customer service designed for long-term relationships.

The division among exhibitors, Davis added, "is a recognition that a revolution is taking place within the interior textiles industry and is testing the staying power of manufacturers and distributors alike. We have recognized the need to divide industry suppliers into two categories."
