Burdines names new vp

MIAMI — Burdines, a division of Federated Department Stores, has announced that Nirmal "Trip" Tripathy has been named executive vp of administration, effective July 1. He succeeds Mike Osborn, who was recently appointed president and coo, Macy's West.
Reporting to Tim Adams, chairman and ceo, Tripathy will oversee finance, operations and human resources.
He joins Burdines from The Limited Stores, where he has been cfo since February 2000. He previously was at PepsiCo, as director, strategy for mergers and acquisitions; director, planning for PepsiCo International, and, for the Frito-Lay division, director, planning for the Asia Pacific region and cfo of operations in Egypt.
