WPS adds two to bath team

WEST POINT, GA — WestPoint Stevens has appointed two new executives dedicated to bath products as the company looks to create a new bath accessories line.

Gerald Moore was named director, bath product innovation, and Henny Schlensinger Lakin was named design manager, bath shop.

"Moore will focus on meshing the cooperative efforts of product development, design, manufacturing and merchandising in the continued development of unique and improved product," said Greg Tarver, senior vp, Bath Products division. "Lakin's objective is design development for shower curtains, accessories and related bath products that will enable us to market a full range of fashion bath products."

For the past 25 years, Moore has worked in bath product development for the Fieldcrest organization of Pillowtex, including stints as product development engineer, product development manager and, most recently, director, bath product development. Before that, he spent 18 years at WestPoint Stevens.

Lakin was most recently director, licensing and product development at Croscill Home Fashions. Prior to that, from 1998 to 2001, she was director, design and engineering for gifts and toys, Avon Products. She also worked at Creative Bath Products, Dawson Home Fashions and Springs Bath Fashions.

Moore will be based in Wagram, NC, reporting to Tarver, and Lakin will be based in New York, reporting to Cynthia Lerner, vp, bath design center.
