LOUISVILLE, KY — Louisville Bedding Company announced the appointment of Lewis Rudy to the position of president.
Rudy assumed his new title on March 19. He originally joined Louisville in July 2000 as vp of purchasing. Prior to that he was the president of Aerated Home Furnishings of Montreal, which became a wholly owned subsidiary of Louisville Bedding in September 1999.
John Minihan, who has been chairman of the board, ceo and president of the company for over 20 years, will remain as ceo and chairman.
"I think the experience I gained from running my own entrepreneurial company in Canada was one of the main factors in my getting appointed by John," Rudy told HTT. "I've also worked with and known John since 1990, and I think he felt very comfortable with my leadership skills and experience."
Rudy said he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the pillow and mattress pad manufacturer. He also said that one of his most important objectives is to maintain the same level of integrity that has made Louisville "an outstanding company in the home textiles world."
"I'm also going to continue to guide our sourcing operations for our products overseas and to guide the company so that we become more global in our way of thinking," he said.
