Guilford bolsters mgmt.

Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 10/12/2001

NEW YORK — Guilford Home Fashions announced the promotion of two executives and the addition of a third.

Joining the home textiles arm of Guilford Mills is Molly Durkin, while Jeff Chilton and Mason Carroll were promoted from within the company.

Durkin, who most recently worked for Keeco, joins the New York-based Guilford as vp, special accounts. She replaces Mike Doherty, who left the company in August. She will work from the Chicago office.

"Molly comes to the table with in-depth experience in the marketing and sales of window and bedding to the mass market," said Herb Briggs, president of Guilford Home Fashions. "She has hit the ground running, and we are delighted to have her on board."

Chilton, who will work from the Charlotte, NC, office, was promoted to the position of vp, national sales manager and will be primarily responsible for the department and specialty store businesses including bed, window and bath lines, as well as in-house and licensed brands.

Said Briggs, "Jeff has exhibited outstanding ability in expanding and organizing our national sales force as well as playing an important role in successfully launching and placing our brands, Jockey Home, Karen Neuberger at Home and Goodnight Home."

Finally, Carroll, vp of operations and global sourcing, will add product management to his duties.

"This brings our R&D and global initiatives full circle by having a seasoned executive directing the total product picture, worldwide," Briggs said.
