Rupafab
Lahore, Pakistan
President: Amir Feerasta
Principal businesses: sheet sets, variety of fabric constructions
Based in Lahore, Pakistan, and headed by its president, Amir Feerasta, Rupafab currently owns four different plants in its home country. In addition, the company is fully capable of exporting and importing its own fabrics through Ultima Home Fashions, Rupafab's Travelers Rest, SC, subsidiary.
And with the ability to produce close to 400,000 sheet sets in a variety of constructions, including fiber-reactive fiber printing, Rupafab offers fabric alone or finished products through its cut-and-sew facilities either in Pakistan or the United States.
According to Feerasta, the company is diligently trying to distinguish itself from the stereotype that any products made in Pakistan are not only cheap in price, but cheap in quality.
"People think Pakistani products are low end," Feerasta said. "Our company is definitely not."
In fact, Feerasta said, Rupafab's competitors are not other Pakistani companies. Instead, it is the Italian high-end fabric manufacturer Mascioni that Rupafab considers to be its main competition.
"Our strategy is simple. We know the needs of the customer. We must be on time, have competitive pricing and have excellent customer service," Feerasta said.
Feerasta said in Rupafab's first two years of business in the United States the company did $2 million worth of business. Since then, the numbers have climbed to $18 million a year. And in the next two years, he hopes to make $30 million to $40 million.
