Frankfurt focus shifts

ATLANTA — Messe Frankfurt has changed the timing and makeup of Heimtextil Americas in order to create a tighter focus on its core exhibitors — home furnishings fabrics companies.
The show, now to be called Heimtextil Americas Fabrics, will emphasize decorative fabrics, upholstery fabrics and contract fabrics, according to Elly Ahn-McCloud, trade fair manager. By adding the "Fabrics" to its name Heimtex "will be focusing on the companies and their products that have supported the exhibition over the years," she said. In recent years, the show also had a small cadre of ready-made home textiles suppliers among the exhibitor roster.
The show will be held from March 17 to March 19, instead of the usual May timing of earlier events, a change that Ahn-McCloud said was the result of polling exhibitors.
Heimtextil Americas Fabrics will be held at the Miami Beach Convention Center, its venue for a number of years.
