Greensboro, N.C. - Non-profit home furnishings industry women's network organization WithIt has selected its roster of keynote speakers for its upcoming 2013 Education Conference later this summer.
Titled "Vision of the Modern Renaissance Woman," the event is set for August 12-14 in Raleigh, NC, and will feature four women speakers who will discuss topics aimed at empowering participants both personally and professionally.
Mary Lou Quinlan is a marketer, speaker, women's advocate and author of New York Times bestseller, "The God Box: Sharing My Mother's Gift of Faith, Love and Letting Go." She will speak on "Building a Life that's Brand You." Quinlan, who also authored "Time Off for Good Behavior" in 2007, will explore the factors that compel women to work so hard and examine how they can take back control and discover their very best selves.
Emily Bennington is the author of "Who Says It's a Man's World: The Girls' Guide to Corporate Domination" and founder of Awake Exec mindful leadership coaching for women. She will talk about "What the Most Remarkable Women Do Right." Bennington has led training programs for numerous Fortune 500 companies and will draw on her research of more than 750 professionals nationwide to present what, specifically, the most accomplished executives do differently.
Arlene Blum, Ph.D., biophysical chemist, is also a mountaineer and the author of "Annapurna: A Woman's Place" and the award-winning memoir, "Breaking Trail: A Climbing Life." Her topic of discussion will be, "Leadership: One Mountain, One Molecule at a Time." Blum's efforts to research and publicize the health impacts of flame retardant chemicals has dramatically altered their use in several industries over the past 30 years, including home furnishings and children's pajamas. She has been a trailblazer in both science and mountaineering, and she will share dramatic stories, stunning visuals, and unforgettable lessons in leadership to help conference attendees achieve their personal and professional goals.
Mary Knackstedt is the author of "The Interior Design Business Handbook" as well as a speaker and a design consultant. She will close WithIt's conference with a "Salute to the Modern Renaissance Woman."
WithIt said this year's conference "promises to add knowledge in many areas of the home industry, bring inspiration and renewed energy toward one's work and as well, provide many networking opportunities."
Attendees will also be offered access to one-on-one mentoring during the conference.
