Atlanta - Newell Rubbermaid is preparing to exit its drapery hardware business.
The multi-category consumer products company said during its recent quarterly report that it will sell its drapery hardware business along with the rest of its Hardware and Teach Platform businesses, which includes the Bulldog, Shurline, Ashland, Mimio and Amerock brands.
President and ceo Michael Polk said the company wants "a sharper set of portfolio choices to prioritize those businesses that have the greatest right to win."
The Hardware and Teach Platform segment generated just over $300 million in sales last year, he said.
