Surya makes a statement with Artistic Weavers rugs

Home Textiles Today Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 3/18/2013 1:35:02 PM

Calhoun, Ga. - Headlining the batch of new introductions at the New York Home Fashions Market this week for Surya's Artistic Weavers division are two collections: Sumava and Nogal.

Sumava is a grouping of 100% wool, hand-tufted area rugs that come in five color stories, each of which comprises its own collection of patterns that cross -coordinate across the other palettes in the line.

The color themes in Sumava are: midnight sky navy, fresh berry, soft dusted, drifting teal, and toasted spice. A 5-by-8 is set to retail for $199.99

The Nogal collection is a different option in both construction and price point. Machine-made of 100% olefin, these pieces employ a 19mm pile height and feature frisee yarns to achieve traditional and contemporary designs. A 5-by-8 is priced at $149.99.

"We are excited about the market," said Paul Sullivan, senior vp, national accounts, of Surya's Artistic Weavers division. "Business appears to be on the upswing, and the customers are looking for relevant products that stress value, texture, color and design. Our new product offerings meet that need."
