Invista's Dacron expands NY showroom, taps Schultze to head sales and marketing

Home Textiles Today Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 3/15/2013 2:24:42 PM

Kennesaw, Ga. - Sleep solutions fiber technology brand Dacron, which is part of the Invista family, recently relocated its New York showroom into a larger space, in time for the New York Home Fashions Market.

Located in the same building as its former site -- 1430 Broadway between 39 and 40th streets, Dacron's new showroom is double in size, and is on the fourth floor.

The company explained that for market, it is "playing off the theme of a new ad campaign to entice its partners to ‘Take Us to Bed,'" and as such is showcasing its collection of brands and products "in a cozy bedroom setting that includes pillows, comforters and mattress toppers."

On display will be several items, including:

--Memorelle fiberfill built on Smart technology, that gives pillows a memory foam-like feel but with improved flexibility and comfort;
--Soft and long-lasting Dreamessence down-alternative fiberfill;
--Comforel fiberfill for luxurious softness;
Purestuff 100% virgin polyester fiberfill with no recycled content;
--Thermolite fiberfill for warmth without the weight in comforters;
--Performa brand fiberfill family, offering innovative solutions to meet the different sleep needs of consumers.

"We believe that today's bedding consumer deserves sleep solutions that meet their individual needs and preferences," said Roberto Fontanillas, global business director for Dacron. "That begins by providing our mill and retailer partners with innovative products based on the legacy of fiber technologies of the Dacron brand."

In other new related to market, Dacron recently appointed Curt Schultze as the company's new sales and marketing director, North America.

Schultze has been with DuPont and Invista throughout his career, most recently on the Stainmaster carpet business.

Based here and reporting to Fontanillas, Schultze replaces Chris Basinger, who recently left the company.
