Dillard's reports solid 4Q

Little Rock, Ark. - Dillard's logged its 10th consecutive quarter of comp store increases, with fourth quarter same-store sales up 3.0%. However, the department store said home and furniture were the weakest sales categories during the period.
Net income for the quarter ended Feb. 2 was $161.4 million, or $3.36 per share. Excluding one-time items, net income would have been $137.6 million, or $2.87 per share, a 30% year-over-year increase.
Merchandise sales (which exclude them company's CDI construction firm) rose 7% to $2.087 billion. Top sellers included in ladies accessories and lingerie and men's apparel and accessories.
For the fiscal year, net income was $336.0 million, or $6.87 per share. Excluding extraordinary items, net income would have been $309.3 million, or $6.32 per share, a 50% improvement over the previous fiscal year.
Merchandise sales for the year rose 5% to $6.59 billion.
