Aalamwaar Textiles touts new collections

HTT Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 1/21/2013 9:29:46 AM

Tarpon Springs, Fla. - Aalamwaar Textiles, which specializes in handmade home furnishings and textiles produced by Indian artisans, is bringing three new collections to the New York International Gift Fair.
The French Country Collection uses raw, unbleached cotton fabric that has been hand-block printed and dyed using Indigo dye. The fabrics are softened by a process that involves steaming and washing them several times. The classic prints were picked from Aalamwaar's archives of old wooden blocks for duvet covers and quilts as well as coordinating shams, curtains and tie-dyed decorative pillows.
The Notting Hill collection features of palette of a washed denim blue and buttercup yellow on a crisp white background. Whimsical paisleys that are balanced with a bold stripe on 100% cotton fabrics of various weights. French Country includes duvet covers and quilts with coordinating shams and dec pillows.
The Masala Chai Collection consists of taupe hand-block prints on a rustic-textured, off-white natural cotton. The quilt has pompoms and hand stitched details. The fabrics are softened and aged through many washes and a steaming process. Masala Chai is available as a collection of decorative pillows, shams, duvet covers and quilts.
