Family Dollar promotes DeBoer to head food

Matthews, N.C. - Recognizing that a compelling food assortment is critical to driving customer traffic into its stores and increase overall sales, Family Dollar Stores Inc. has made the category a central focus and recently promoted Tammy L. DeBoer to the position of svp of food to help head the effort.

DeBoer reports to Paul White, evp - chief merchandising officer.

"Tammy's proven track record in the food industry and her strategic leadership will help drive further enhancements to our assortment and help us increase customer loyalty as we work to continue to expand our market share," he noted.

Since joining Family Dollar in June 2012, DeBoer has led the company's private brand efforts with a strong focus on improving quality and expanding the assortment. Prior to joining Family Dollar, DeBoer served as vp, gm for Bloom, a Delhaize America company.
