HTT Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 11/29/2012 11:36:18 AM

Washington D.C. - While the majority of shoppers on Cyber Monday sought out apparel, electronics and toys, other segments also got their attention, including home.

According to a recent Shop.org survey conducted by BigInsight, which polled 2,587 consumers from November 26-28, Cyber Monday shoppers spent an average $194.46 online, more than the average person spent online over the Thanksgiving weekend ($172.42).

Of those shoppers, 11.3% bought home decor or home-related furnishings.

According to the survey, three in 10 (31.4%) online shoppers said they bought clothing and clothing accessories and slightly less than half (46.8%) of 18-34 year olds bought clothing online, the most of any age group.

Aside from home goods, other popular items purchased include books, CDs, DVDs, videos or video games (27.8%), electronics (25.2%), toys (17.5%), personal care or beauty items (12.3%), gift cards/gift certificates (12.2%), jewelry or precious metal accessories (10.5%) and sporting goods or leisure items (10.1%).
