San Francisco - Williams-Sonoma has opened its first store in Quebec and eighth store in Canada.
Located at Carrefour Laval in Laval, Quebec, it is the upscale culinary chain's first unit to showcase a new store design. Doors officially opened Nov. 3.
The new design includes exciting interactive features to engage customers' sense of taste, touch and smell. A newly created modern kitchen is a focal point of the store, and there are demonstration stations throughout the store enabling customers to test products. In addition, there are several terminals where customers can complete purchases throughout the store.
"Opening a Williams-Sonoma store in Quebec is an important milestone for our brand in Canada. It was French cooking equipment that inspired our founder, Chuck Williams, to open his first shop in 1956," said Richard Harvey, president, Williams-Sonoma.
The 8,000 square foot store also features collections and products from local, Quebec-based companies.
The other Canadian Williams-Sonoma stores are located in: Sherway Gardens, Toronto Eaton Centre, Yorkdale Shopping Centre, Bloor Street West in Toronto; West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton; Chinook Centre in Calgary and Granville Street in Vancouver.
