Government updates roster of goods suspected of child labor

Washington - Late last week, the U.S. Department of Labor updated the list of goods and countries of origin the government has reason to believe are produced by child labor or forced labor in violation of international standards.

According to a memo from HFPA Counsel Meeks, Sheppard, Leo & Pillsbury, the update adds four new goods (including thread/yarn) and three new countries (South Sudan, Suriname, and Vietnam) to the list. Importation of goods on the list is prohibited by U.S. law.
