New York - Swavelle/Mill Creek has partnered with celebrity designer and decorator Nate Berkus to co-create a new and exclusive line of home decorative fabrics.

The initial collection will be offered this fall to wholesalers and furniture manufacturers. In January, the collection will officially launch at retail nationwide at Calico Corners.

There are 96 skus covering a broad range of categories, including print, drapery and woven upholstery fabrics. The second round of the collection will comprise about 40 skus will be launched in late spring.

Inspired greatly by his world travels, Berkus's designs for the line were made to reflect a balance of timeless, classical beauty with innovative and imaginative looks.

"As a designer, I think fabric is so important in a space," added Berkus. "It adds depth and interest in a way that no other medium can in a room. And what's amazing about fabric is that you don't need much to make a statement in your space. Sometimes, just one yard turned into a pillow is all you need to up the design ante in a room."

Richard Hanfling, president of Swavelle/Mill Creek, said he believes Berkus "has created an enticing collection that will appeal to both those who are seeking beautiful, traditional looks as well as to the young homeowner who wishes to be surrounded with new and unique designs, without compromising on luxury."
