Art Resources joins High Point Market with new showroom, creates new division

Los Angeles - Area rug source Art Resources will for the first time exhibit at the High Point Market come October, when the company will grand open its new 4,691-square-foot showroom in Space 294 of Market Square.

In line with the move, the company - which offers high-end Oriental rugs - recently created a new rug division centered on mid-range priced varieties that target furniture stores and mass merchandisers. An 8-by-10 in the line is set to retail between $500 and $1,600 at retail. Design offerings span traditional to transitional and modern styles.

"We're offering an eclectic mix of quality, hand-knotted rugs imported from India," said Eddie Simantob, a partner in the business with his brother Jack. "They are designed to appeal to a broad range of tastes, with very affordable price points."

Art Resources, a 30-year-old business, operates a warehouse facility here at headquarters as well as an office and warehouse in Secaucus, N.J. The bulk of its lines are imported from Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Other news from the company is the re-launch of its newly enhanced website, www.artresources.us.

"We offer retailers and consumers the ability to search our entire line by shape and size, primary color, construction, material and location," he said. "All the rugs we have in our inventory are in the data base, and the search function is compatible with every type of browser. And once a customer has registered, product photos can be easily e-mailed back and forth."
