Mumbai - Vertically integrated Indo Count Industries recently augmented its production capacity by almost 40% at its facilities in Kolhapur, India.
The sheet and top-of-bed manufacturer boosted capacity from 36 million meters per year to 50 million meters - approximately 12 million sheet sets per year.
The expansion should boost annual sales from $180 million U.S. to $300 million U.S., according to Mohit Jain, director.
"We are sometimes perceived as a medium-sized player," he told HTT. "This expansion positions to company among the top three [sheet] players in the USA."
Indo Count is already planning additional expansion, which by 2015/2016 should raise its annual turnover to $600 million U.S., he said.
Last month, the company marked the first anniversary of Indo Count Global Inc., its U.S. warehousing and EDI operation near Charlotte, N.C.
"It is now fully active and enabled," Jain told HTT. "We've been able to get a larger customer base by doing this."
