ACS heads for New York with new exec

Narayangonj, Bangladesh - ACS Textiles has hired Rahul Singh to head its towel operation and will be showing towels as well as its bedding line at the New York Home Fashions Market in September.
ACS, a company owned by British investors, launched its towel production eight months ago.
"The production set up is vertical, with latest technology machinery," said Singh, who is senior vp for towels. "We are a ISO 1400 company certified to handle organic cotton products, and we have a license for Egyptian cotton. Weaving has all Air Jet looms with Dornier dobby and jacquard as well as Tsudakoma dobby looms."
The company was established in 2005 as a vertical bedding producer and now manufactures three million meters of fabric per month. Its finished towel capacity is 300 tons per month, and the mill uses dyes and chemicals certified by Oeko Tex, said Singh.
ACS Textiles generated $90 million US in sales last year and expects to add another $10 million US this year, he added.
At the New York market, the company will show at 295 Fifth Ave. in Suite 104, Stand #2.
