Safavieh salutes London Olympics at Las Vegas Market

Port Washington, N.Y. - Safavieh is celebrating the London Olympics in its Las Vegas Market showroom, A-101, with prize drawings, refreshments and new product introductions. The company is awarding a set of Union Jack decorative pillows in a random drawing of retailer names scanned during market.
The drawing will be held on Friday, Aug. 3, closing day of market and the 2012 Summer Olympics. A consumer promotion will run simultaneously on Facebook, with a British flag pillow giveaway contest for Facebook fans.
Safavieh will serve afternoon tea and scones throughout the day at its showroom daily. The company will introduce several cross-category Union Jack products during market in addition to the pillows.
A hand-knotted rug from the Spice Market collection is crafted of vintage pure wool rugs from Afghanistan which are dyed in subdued British flag colors, then pieced together to create the flag motif. Spice Market rugs are made in Turkey and retail for $1,700 for the 5'7" x 7'10" size.
Other products bearing the Union Jack motif include the new Britannia steamer-style storage trunk designed for use as an end table or in pairs as a coffee table. The trunk features the flag printed on sturdy hemp fabric accented with classic leather trim and finished with pewter rivets. The suggested retail price is $716.
Safavieh's Union Jack cube ottoman is upholstered in a blend of cotton and polyester and has a suggested retail price of $382.
From Safavieh's new pillow collection, the British flag gets a fashion makeover with stripes of fringed red denim and white cotton. There's also a version with stripes of burlap sack cloth in natural hemp appliquéd to layers of fringed blue denim cotton fabric. The suggested retail price is $112 for a set of two.
Safavieh is offering breakfast, lunch and happy hour daily during market in addition to the all-day afternoon tea.
