NEW YORK - Same-store sales rose 2.4% in the third week of June after a 2.0% increase the previous week, according to the Johnson Redbook Retail Sales Index.
"Business recovered in the third week of June, but not as much as hoped for," said Redbook analysts Catlin Levis.
Product categories related to Father's Day drove traffic, she said. In addition, sales of seasonal items such as swimwear, fans, air conditioners and patio furniture picked up during the week.
