Atlanta - The weather is warm and the streets are bustling just outside Building 1 of the AmericasMart, home to the International Area Rug Market.
The event's 2012 summer edition kicks off today, and area rug suppliers are expecting a decent buyer turn out - at least on par, if not better than the typical July traffic.
Mark Furlet, AmericasMart svp of leasing for Building 1, which houses the rug showrooms on floors 3 to 6, told HTT that the mood is set to be upbeat and that many licenes, including Barclay Butera at Nourison, Martha Stewart at Safavieh, Candice Olson at Surya, and many others.
The most prevalent trends emphasized around the market floors are modern transitional looks, many of which borrow from ikat and suzani styles; and on the color spectrum, blues seem to be the palette of choice, from pale sea glass to deep Persian interpretations.
To see more, check out HTT's daily video features at the market - airing today through Saturday - at www.hometextilestoday.com as well as on Facebook.
We would love your feedback!
