Orian opens new High Point showroom

HTT Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 4/12/2012 2:03:11 PM

Anderson, S.C. - Domestic area rug manufacturer Orian Rugs is moving to High Point with the opening of a new showroom during market, which will take place April 21-26.

The 6,500-square-foot showroom is located in space 3233 of Showplace.

At market, Orian will display its new Gallery collection, which was designed for furniture, independent and regional retailers. It spans 10 different styles for a total of 170 designs for indoor and outdoor use. Price points for a 5 by 8 range from $99 to $299 retail.

""High Point is where we need to be to reach this channel of distribution," said Mikala Moller, director of marketing, noting the company's business up until this point has focused on national mass merchants and specialty retailers. "

Orian began reaching out to conventional furniture stores in January.

In addition to Gallery, Orian will show a sampling of its existing product - including two collections from its flagship line, Shakespeare and Carolina Wild -- as well as Montage, Heritage and Sonoma, an outdoor line.

"We see a big opportunity to expand our reach with furniture stores," said Moller. "Rugs are a natural add-on to the sale of upholstery and other furnishings, and more and more stores are looking for a way to grow this part of their business."

Orian will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 21 at 11:15 a.m.
