Big Lots: Home Key in 4Q

Home is showing promise at Big Lots, with the category's comp up in the low single digits during the recent third quarter.
During the 1,445-unit chain's earnings call Dec. 5, chairman, ceo and president Steve Fishman singled home out as "an important part of Q4."
Home and furniture are also becoming a focal point in the company's recently acquired 85-unit Canadian operation, Big Lots Canada, where both categories along with seasonal and toys are getting "positive customer feedback."
