Warp & Weft expands hand-tufted rug collection

HTT Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 1/23/2012 8:56:43 AM

New York - Contemporary rug manufacturer Warp & Weft is intorudcing the Geometriques line of hand-tufted rugs.
Eight of the designs are made from fine semiworsted merino wool. One design is a wool/silk blend.
Founded by Michael Mandapati in 2001 as a gallery for antique oriental carpets, Warp & Weft expanded in 2005 to design and manufacture high-end hand-woven and hand-tufted area rugs.
The wool and silk rugs are unbleached to keep the materials as close to their original state as possible. The floor coverings are hand-woven in Nepal at 100 knots per square inch, then washed and finished in Switzerland for a soft and lustrous surface effect.
