Manual Woodworks fetes 80th anniversary with revamped Atlanta showroom and others

Home Textiles Today Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 1/13/2012 12:46:50 PM

Atlanta - With 2012 marking the 80th anniversary of Manual Woodworkers & Weavers, the company is celebrating the milestone with redesigned and relocated showrooms in Atlanta and elsewhere in time for the winter market season.

The effort is part of MWW's greater strategic plan to expand its visibility "in key market centers," the company said.

"In Atlanta, we have dramatically redesigned our Suite 697 in the West Wing of AmericasMart to spotlight our domestically made indoor and outdoor textiles, and we are also leasing space 10-C-96 in The Gardens to showcase the 40 new outdoor pillows in our Climaweave collection, also made in the USA," said Steve Frawley, director of gift sales.

In addition, MWW will fete its anniversary with a champagne and cupcake party beginning at 3:00 p.m. on January 14th during the AmericasMart's International Gift and Home Furnishings Market.

In Dallas, MWW has moved to Suite 1355, near the west entrance of the Trade Mart.

"We believe this new space will permit us to better showcase the diversity of our line and especially our made in the USA products, which have resonated so strongly with buyers this year," he added. "After analyzing our business, we determined that we weren't maximizing our opportunities in Dallas and we think that this relocation is an important step in the right direction."

The company maintains other corporate showrooms in Las Vegas and New York's 7W, but Frawley said that MWW "made the difficult decision to close its showroom in the Chicago Merchandise Mart at the end of 2011," adding that the company has been focusing on expanding its rep coverage in the Chicago area to ensure customers' needs are met.

"We recently brought on new reps in Illinois, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa, and Kansas, and we believe that our best tactic is to service our valued customers in that region on the road," Frawley noted.
