Paterson, N.J. -- Paterson Habitat for Humanity (PHFH) has secured a space for a new ReStore location here and plans to open the site come spring 2012.
The new store will be located at 415 Hamburg Turnpike in Wayne. Its sales will benefit PHFH's homebuilding efforts here.
The merchandise assortment will include new and gently-used building materials such as lumber, doors and windows, tile and stone, appliances, plumbing fixtures, cabinetry and lighting, as well as furniture and home décor items.
PHFH is asking for donations of such items from manufacturers, distributors, retailers, contractors and remodelers.
"This is a great way to keep used material from landfills and for excess inventory to be used to build affordable energy efficient housing in our community," said Barbara Dunn, the executive director of the Paterson Habitat for Humanity. "And it is a great way for our friends and neighbors to save money while helping a good cause."
The project manager for the ReStore start up is Lucia Fitzgerald, a longtime home furnishings industry executive.
For more information on how to donate items to be sold or fixturing for the store, please email Fitzgerald at restore@patersonhabitat.org.
We would love your feedback!
