Revman looks to the Coasts

Nine Palms indulges in novelty designs.
The company signed its latest licensing agreement with designer Trina Turk , who is known for her bold signature prints and colorful aesthetic. The Trina Turk collection encompasses signature pattern groups offered in comforter sets, duvet sets, sheet sets, and embellished decorative pillows. The sheets are printed on cotton percale and the outer bedding will be lush cotton sateen.
The Trina Turk line includes a collection of cotton quilt sets in both prints and solid colors. Revman will expand the offering to include beach and bath towels for summer 2018.
“Trina is a good addition to our assortment of brands. It’s bright and colorful,” said Revman president and ceo Richard Roman.
Also new to the showroom this week is Nine Palms, an addition to the company’s suite of trend-right, in-house brands. The collection includes sheets, quilts, decorative pillows and throws. Accessory pieces play up novelty themes such as bananas, pineapples, monkeys and hula dancers.
The Nautica brand, which emits a coastal undercurrent, this market is showing a few beds that dial it up a notch. Some hit the mark dead-on with seashells and other literal designs, while some also take a more subtle approach geared toward a master bedroom.
“It’s a combination of coasts with some more modern, updated looks,” said Petricoff. “The coastal business has been really strong, and this brand has a long track record of performance in that area.”
With Nautica coming off a strong Back-to-Campus 2017 season both in stores and online, Revman is also for the first time displaying Nautica dorm collections on twin beds.
Nautica is also showing an array of freestanding sheet sets, many featuring novelty prints. Revman is also producing freestanding sheet sets for other brands such as Tommy Bahama, Original Penguin and Laura Ashley. Roman noted that many bedding ensembles no longer include sheets.
“Customers area all asking for freestanding sheets,” he said, adding that the quilt business is outpacing the comforter business. That’s a trend Revman is seeing both online and in stores.
“Our e-commerce business is almost equal to our brick-and-mortar business now,” said Roman. “That includes both pure-play retailers and bricks retailers’ online divisions.”
