Senior Wal-Mart exec to retire

Bentonville, Ark. - Eduardo Castro-Wright, who has held several prominent executive roles since joining the company 10 years ago, will retire in July 2012.
Castro-Wright is currently vice chairman and ceo of the multi-national corporation's global ecommerce and global sourcing businesses. Wal-Mart plans to fill both posts by the end of January.
He joined the company as president and coo of Walmart Mexico in 2001. Two years later, he was promoted to president and ceo of the division. He become coo for Walmart U.S. in 2005 and quickly was named president and ceo. He became vice chairman of the company in 2008 and took on his current responsibilities in August 2010.
